Art educators*, art and culture educators* work in a field that is constantly being redefined. The roles of the actors and the institutions, the power structures, the various ways of professionalization, the forms and possibilities of participation as well as the forms of knowledge and its visibility are constantly being renegotiated. “The Art Educator’s Talk #Becoming” is dedicated to a discussion on the question: How does it actually work: Becoming an art educator? What conditions are there for an occupational field whose access is not regulated by a uniform education – and what potentials result from this? What do you want for the field? What do art educators* want to achieve together?

With: Marie Newid ( Trainee, Berlinische Galerie and lab.bode), Christiane Hamacher (Artist/art educator), Jelena Toopekooff ( Scholarship holder Volkswagen Fellowship 2018/19, Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg), Paula-Marie Kanefendt ( Scholarship holder for artistic art education of the nGbK Berlin), Moderation: Gila Kolb and Konstanze Schütze.

The talk will be held in german language.
